In the middle of Roppongi, Nogizaka and Akasaka: Cocoya Akasaka Masoo |
Haven’t you always wanted to live in your dream location? Maybe an affluent neighborhood with international character lined with embassies and international schools. Or one in which people creating the future such as entrepreneurs and designers gather. There is a female-exclusive share house I’d like to introduce to those who want to live in a place where they can experience cutting edge trends and movements. Akasaka Masoo, the female-exclusive share house recently opened by Sanno Kogyo Co.,Ltd, is in a location that is a 6-minute walk to Roppongi, Nogizaka and Akasaka stations. The house is right next to Hinoki-cho park to the east of Tokyo Midtown and as well as being a quite area, is within walking distance to popular areas such as Akasaka Sacas and Roppongi Hills. How about starting your shared living lifestyle right here? |
「Cocoya Akasaka Masoo」House Details Page
Lounge The lounge in Akasaka Masoo, a remodeled home. It may not be filled with new technologies and bright colors, but the wooden walls and lighting give the feel of a log cabin and is a calm, tranquil place. Hospitality The house is a part of Sanno Kyogo’s Cocoya series and they look after each and every tenant with their great hospitality, providing quality service from the heart while keeping costs down in good locations. |
When we called by the house they were still in the preparation stages getting ready for the big opening, but graciously allowed us to take photos anyway. There was apparently a lot of wear and tear before the remodelling, but after a full renovation the property is looking amazing. The house is a 2 storey wooden building with 4 rooms on the 1st floor and 5 on the 2nd floor, a total of 9 rooms. It’s quite stylish, don’t you think? |
||||
Entering the house we head straight for the living room. The communal area is at the back of the 1F, so except for room 101, the house is designed so that you can get to the rooms without going through the living room. Just as I was thinking that the wall really brought out the warmth of the wood, it turned out to be wallpaper. It may just be the lighting, but it’s quite relaxing in here. |
||||
Cooking utensils and tableware. From the furniture to cooking utensils and tableware, everything you think you might need when moving in has already been provided. The communal area on the 1F has a kitchen as well as a television and DVD player. |
||||
There are also appliances such as microwaves and rice cookers. Since the workers were working so hard getting the place ready here is a shot of the painting process. They are making everything perfect for when the new tenants arrive. It is in part because of the these worker’s cooperation that the tenants will be able to move in and begin their new lives. |
||||
Let’s have a look at the communal area on the 2F before moving on to the rooms. Those into this kind of thing will really love the wood-style wallpaper. On the 2F there is a free standing basin and... a toilet as well as communal space for computers and things. |
One feature of all Sanno Kogyo’s Cocoya series of properties is that there is a television in each room.
While it is of course fun to watch TV with others, this feature is good news for those who like to flick through the channels at the own pace from time to time. That said, it is important to be considerate and not watch at full volume late at night. This is Room 101. |
||||
(Room 204) Here is another room. The natural lighting is perfect with this large window! Rooms on the 2F differ in size from 9.18 to 11.48m², and considering the communal areas as well, you can live quite comfortably even though you are in the middle of Roppongi, Nogizaka and Akasaka. |
||||
This is Room 203. There are drawers for storage and a hanging rack as well as a bed, TV and desk. Window frames and railings are all wooden. This house could become a tranquil refuge for working women in the city. |
I’m sure you are all wondering what Masoo means, and it’s apparently a shade of red. I thought that since the ‘Aka’ in ‘Akasaka’ means ‘red’ that the name came from there, but inside the building there are little traces of this color to be seen. Perhaps they’ll paint something on the outside later on. I’m sure there will be something to catch your eye when you come on over to have a look.
I hear you telling me, “Well in that case you should have visited the house when it as complete!”, but since this property is in a great location with great rates, and also because the Cocoya series is very popular, they have already had numerous calls about it. I think rooms will fill up as soon as the house opens. So if you feel that the location, rent and rooms were a bit of alright, call up as soon as possible. The early bird gets the worm.
Sanno Kyogo also periodically holds international exchange and business exchange event known as COCOYA PARTY (normally 3,500 yen a head) and tenants can participate for free. More than 200 people attended the last party, so it’s a good chance to make connections and meet new people. I can understand why the Cocoya Series is so popular. To those who find it hard to make friends even though they are living in a big city, it might be interesting to move to one of Sanno Kyogo’s places and make friends from all over the world.
For more information please ask the staff when you come to check the place out.
I think a lot of crazy characters would live in this kind of place.
