Experience a slow, relaxed lifestyle in the suburbs

The international-style New Villa Guest House sits on a street corner surrounded by nature

Tama Plaza is a popular commuter town for people working in the city center. With its refreshing tree-lined avenues and unique bakeries, western confectionery stores and great shopping in front of the local station, the area continually holds a place atop the list of most desirable towns in Kanagawa prefecture. The lovely tree-lined streets match the address of Utsukushigaoka, or Beautiful Hill, perfectly. This is where you can find the polished New Villa Guest House.

Stroll the neighborhood and you will soon be drawn to a particular store by its deep, flavorsome smell. If you step inside you’ll discover that it is a coffee bean specialty store. Imagine spending your weekends just like this, experiencing a touch of foreign culture offered to you by this house. It’s the perfect place for people who love to relax, yet also seek stimulation and excitement. The property itself is a cozy 2-storey wooden building with a lightweight steel frame. It’s the kind of rustic, comfortable place you’ll fall in love with even more every moment you are there

Also, approximately half of the residents are from countries outside of Japan. The live-in supervisor has even spent a considerable amount of time studying abroad in Australia, and your foreign language skills might even flourish living here. One university student has apparently improved his own skills greatly in his two years in the house. Japanese residents are also good friends, often going out drinking and even traveling together. It sounds like one big homestay adventure!

The property is currently being renovated and is in the process of evolving. Let’s have a closer look at New Villa Guest House, where residents can experience foreign cultures in a relaxed and comfortable environment!

The comfortable lounge area is simple in design and warmed by wooden furniture

The lounge where residents mingle is simply styled with an at-home vibe everyone can hang out and relax in. This is where all the cultural exchange takes place. There is a TV with SKY PerfecTV, a satellite television service, and communal computer.

A large, spacious kitchen with plenty of room to move

One thing to enjoy in a house of international cultures is international food. Thankfully there is enough room in here for a large number of people to cook at the same time.

With the two 3-burner stoves you can fry, boil and stew without any hassles.

There are 21 rooms in total. These Japanese-style rooms have an air of warmth and are something novel and interesting for non-Japanese while being familiar and calming for the Japanese.

One of the appeals of New Villa Guest House is it’s location. In an area surrounded by nature residents can experience the changing seasons without going too far. For example, everyone gets together in spring to enjoy a picnic amongst the blooming flowers - imagine how delicious a can of your favourite alcoholic beverage will taste taking in such scenery. There is also woodland nearby where one can enjoy a walk or a jog.

The interior of the house is also quite simple with a comfortable, relaxed vibe. It’s only a matter of time before you fall in love with the natural, open atmosphere. All rooms in the 2-storey house are mixed-sex and residents can enjoy communication among themselves with no gender divide.

The house comes together with its Japanese-taste accents, and residents interact with foreign culture in a very Japanese environment. I also want to point out that the owner and supervisor are people with great personalities. They will welcome you like family here in Tama Plaza, the symbol of Tama Denentoshi.

This unique house is where one can experience both city and country, and a multi-cultural lifestyle. An out of the ordinary way of life is awaiting your arrival.
