“Kizunaya Share House -meguru- Chigasaki,Shonan” is one of the largest share houses in the area, with 24 men and women living together. As such, the shared space is both spacious and well-equipped.

Stepping into the living room, the first thing that catches the eye is the dining table and kitchen with the warmth of “wood. Warm lighting gently envelops the space, and the natural light coming in through the large windows brightly illuminates the room.

The spacious kitchen is a must for those who love to cook. There is plenty of room for several people to cook at the same time. One can’t help but imagine cooking while chatting and laughing with your share mates across the kitchen counter. You can’t help but imagine such a scene.

This is not the only attraction of this living room. Another feature of this living room is that it can be used in a variety of ways, taking advantage of its spaciousness. Some people relax and read a book on the large sofa, others concentrate on their work at the dining table with their computer open, and still others try out new recipes in the kitchen. While each person spends his or her own time, they share the same space. This “loose connection” is possible only in a large space.

While spending time as one pleases, it also becomes a place where everyone can enjoy themselves together at times. It may be a special experience that only a share house can offer.

Three spaces to enhance your lifestyle

With the increase in remote work, it is important to have a work environment at home. Here, co-working spaces are available to help you focus on your work. In addition to a desk area facing the window, there is also a single-seat sofa and a desk and chair that are perfect for both online meetings and focused work. It would be nice to change places a bit when you lose focus.

It will also be fun to watch your favorite movies or videos with your friends in the adjacent theater room. Spending time alone is important, but there are also “important things” that become visible only when you spend time with others. The training room is also recommended for those who want to lead a healthy lifestyle. Even if you are usually at a desk most of the time, just sweating it out for a while will naturally clear your head. It saves you the trouble of going to the gym, and provides an environment where you can easily refresh yourself at any time.

You can choose between Japanese-style and Western-style rooms at Kizunaya Share House -meguru- Chigasaki,Shonan. The wall cloths in both rooms have a natural taste with white as the base color, and seem to go well with any type of furniture. Some of the Japanese-style rooms have a closet. If you have a lot of clothes and accessories, we recommend adding storage space.

Since the room has a natural white base tone, you can enjoy decorating it in your own way with your favorite accessories. Your time in the room will be an important time for you.

This spring is the year to do it.

Two years have passed since the spread of the new coronavirus, and we are gradually beginning to feel a return to a more conventional lifestyle. Many of you may have endured a long period of waiting at home and are now making plans to start anew this year, dispelling the sense of loneliness that has swelled up inside your hearts.

When you think about it, when you need a change in your lifestyle or daily life, changing your living environment or the people you meet is still a good option.

This time, we’d like to change things up a bit and show you a share house before it’s completed, in hopes of giving our media visitors a chance to get off to a “good start”.

Rather than starting with a completed share house, we thought it would be more enjoyable to take a little bit of a flying leap and experience the process of completing a share house. If you are going to get to know each other, it would be more profitable to start with the initial members.

So this time we’ll be taking a look at “Garden Terrace Tama Plaza,” which will be opening a 6 minute walk from Tama Plaza Station on the Denentoshi Line, from its pre-renovation state. There are many relatively large scale share houses in the area, but since this share house is managed by Share Design, a company that has created a number of unique large scale share houses with “fun” as their theme, our expectations for this share house were high.

On the day of the tour, we were shown around by the manager, Mr. Miura. When we asked him about the concept of the facility, he replied, “I think there are still many people who are concerned about the effects of Corona, so this time, all three units (bathroom, wash stand, and toilet) will be in private rooms to ensure enough privacy, while also providing a park-like area in the center of the building where everyone can gather. We’re thinking of creating a place where everyone can gather in the middle of the building like a park.

I’m sure share house managers have their own priorities, and when considering moving in, it’s important to not just look at the property information on the website, but to actually visit the share house and hear what the manager has to say in a realistic setting.

Incidentally, just around the corner from this “Garden Terrace Tama Plaza” is the “Share Residence Utsukushigaoka,” which we’ve covered many times. (It’s really close by, lol.) I’d like to visit “Garden Terrace Tama Plaza,” which is currently under construction, a one-minute walk down the hill across from “Share Residence Tama Plaza,” while fantasizing about how fun it would be to hold joint events with other neighboring properties.

In the center of the building, a park where people can gather.

First, let me give you an overview of the building, which is a large five-story building with a number of private rooms lined up on either side, and a large space in the middle that is a bit strange.

This picture shows the first floor space that spreads out in front of you on the right as you enter the building and go down the hallway a little further. The point is to create a space for socializing in the center of a room where one can live alone. Currently, it looks inorganic, but it will be exciting to see how it will change from here. The red doors on the walls on both sides are private rooms, and the white door on the far right is the dining room and kitchen for communal use.

This building was once used as a student dormitory. By renovating this space, the space in the center of each room will become a park-like place. (It is difficult to imagine from the photos, but we are looking forward to the completion of the project and to exercise our imagination.)

The finished product will have artificial turf on the floor, and tables and chairs will be laid out. However, even at the time of our visit, the final touches had not been made, and they were still working on the atmosphere of the main space, mixing and matching several ideas such as café style, grumbling style, terrace style, and more. For those of us who always visit a share house when it’s completed, the passion and thought that goes into creating a place that values ideas and planning ability is truly impressive.

Incidentally, the laundromat will be located on the 2nd and 4th floors, but there are no large common spaces on the upper floors, the 2nd to 5th floors, which are mainly private rooms.

Now let’s take a look at the kitchen and private rooms in the back.

Now, when we visited the kitchen area in the back of the building, this is what we found. When we visited, there was no running water or electricity, and it was quite dimly lit, giving the impression of “the site.

When the building was used as a student dormitory, the kitchen and space were separated by the dining hall, but the furniture and appliances in this area are going to be replaced substantially. The completed space will be reminiscent of a stylish restaurant, just like the other properties Share Design has worked on. The kitchen will be similar to that of the “Share Residence Akeigaoka,” a property by the same operator. Please check it out from the link.

Also, the size of the private rooms varies from room to room, but they are approximately 13.03 m2 to 14.84 m2 (8.41 to 9.59 tatami mats).
Although 1R apartments give the impression of being small, we urge you to match your own sense of value to see how much you can add to the use of communal spaces, kitchens, and other facilities.

Also, when we visited, a bed, a desk, a refrigerator, and a closet were placed in the room. The floors in the private rooms are all wood, and the desks and tables will be changed to match the wood. Wooden furniture is very calming, isn’t it?
What did you think of the newly opened share house “Garden Terrace Tama Plaza”?

Even though it’s not yet completed, what’s still worth noting is the park-like space that stretches throughout the property. When you want a change of scenery, or when you feel lonely eating alone, just go out to the lounge and you’ll find someone there. The park will be a social place where you can live alone and socialize with your neighbors, and even the park will be happy about it.

I don’t understand what you are talking about even if you show me pictures of the facilities before they are completed…” I can understand why you would say that. However, it’s not uncommon for popular properties to have a waiting list for vacant rooms. This time, some of the rooms will be available for occupancy before the facility is completed.

I’m going to live in a flying house.

Having photographed many large scale share houses, we have no doubt that the quality of the space will be high once the facility is completed, but if you can get a sense of what we can expect from a visit report such as this, please be sure to visit the share house before it’s completed.

It will be fun to experience the process of creating the space, and I have a feeling that you will naturally get to know the staff. In the words of Mr. Miura of Share Design, those who find the pre-completion report interesting will receive a special discount plan until the building is completed.

Also, on the same day of our visit, we actually had the opportunity to visit the nearby “Share Residence Utsukushigaoka” and were told that Utsukushigaoka is a very comfortable place to live, and all the residents were very sociable, talked to us a lot, and seemed to be having a lot of fun. （The residents were very sociable and seemed to be having a lot of fun.) I feel that this is a place where the circle of exchange will expand.

If I were to raise a concern, it would be that if the environment is too well equipped for living alone, you may not use the communal space as often as you’d like, and even if the environment is very social, you may not get to know the other residents as well as you’d like. If you are interested in moving into such a place, perhaps it is important to have a little courage and be willing to try to communicate with others.

We have all endured a long period of self-restraint, so why not act with a bit of urgency this year? It’s spring.

If you have ever considered living in a share house, this is the house that will make you take that big decision. That lifestyle of sharing the same place with people with different backgrounds and personalities, sometimes even from the other side of the world, a place where you can feel at home with a second family.

Just a few years ago, skeptical eyes look at the idea of “sharing a house” as something impossible:“Is it really true?”. Now that a new way of living has become a general lifestyle that everyone is willing to try. This year, with the mission of keep spreading the “share” concept, a new share house has been opened. Making its debut in this business, “Waim-group” company is bringing a different style that will revolutionize the Sharehouse market.

After that big intro, I would like to introduce “Share Reside Aobadai”, newly opened in Aobadai, Yokohama, Kanagawa.

As I said before the operator is “Waim-group” which has plenty of experience in the market of rental offices and coworking spaces. Although they have been working in other industries “Waim-group” wants to provide “an ideal form of a share house” designed to take advantage of the experience and know-how accumulated in the real estate industry, and to remove the negative thoughts about the share house style. They have clearly entered into this industry with a strong vision.

If you get off from Aobadai Station and walk straight toward the south, you will see the sign of “SHARE RESIDE” at the entrance of a four-floor building. From the outside, you will be able to see a stylish room with a huge TV, comfortable sofas and a nice kitchen in the background. The glass-walled room lets the light enter as it were store apparel, people walking on the street will probably be wondering what this building?. “An interior design store? Wait… it’s a house!!”

A space filled with thoughts and commitment, a perfect new start.

“Click here for more details of “Share Residue Aobadai”

The large living-dining area has a relaxing atmosphere. The working space is connected to the kitchen, and the common space was designed to gather all the residences on the first floor of the building. A well-designed house to bring the sharing concept to its maximum.

As you pass through the entrance, the first thing that jumps to your eyes is the entrance to a huge living room: A Scandinavian living room mixed with the feeling of a coastal cafe, an interior that makes you feel relaxed as you were under a dream.

There is no better combination than a cup of coffee while working. As one of the big good points in this house, right next to the coworking space there is a Japanese coffee machine ready to be used. You will be able to warm your heart with the fresh fragrance of freshly ground coffee!

”How is life in downtown?”

East Tokyo. Taitoku. Asakusabashi.
What kind of town can you imagine of when you hear “Asakusabashi”? “Well, if it’s Asakusa” … Sensoji Temple? Sumida River and Tokyo Sky Tree? Ah! The monument that looks like Dragon Ball’s cloud!!” You are kind of right, but we aren’t talking about Asakusa. And that golden building isn’t related to Dragon ball at all. It’s actually Asahi Beer Building’s Super Dry Hall but that is another report…

Today’s sharehouse is located in Asakusabashi which is famous for its traditional Japanese doll shops, handicrafts and clothes wholesalers. Have you heard of “Monomachi”? An event hold in Asakusabashi around September where studios and craft galleries of the area delight visitors with their unique creations.

As I said before the sharehouse I would like to talk about this time is located in Asakusabashi, at a 2-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station on the Toei Asakusa Line, and a 5-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station on the JR Sobu Line. The way home has many colorful buildings, local cafés, restaurants, and wholesalers of handicrafts and clothes. A nice and peaceful area to enjoy walking around the neighborhood or even to return home safely at night.

Mr. Oda and Mr. Osako received us to introduce “FRESH shareASAKUSABASHI”. They mentioned that half of the residents are foreigners since there is a language school around the area, this sharehouse is surprisingly international. Doesn’t it sound exciting?
An international lifestyle in the downtown, a fusion between tradition and modernity.

Let’s take a look at the life of “FRESH shareASAKUSABASHI”.

“Reading a good book while listening to records with a gramophone takes me to my happy place”

What is a happy place? Where is it? I’m pretty sure everyone has come with that situation of being tired after a long time at work or school and all you want to do is get home and deep in your bed. While you are in the train going back home or walking, you image the softness of your blankets, the music in the background while you put your comfortable clothes and the delicious dinner placed on the table…” ah ~ my happy place”. Your happy place can be whatever you want and wherever you want it to be but in this sharehouse it would be easier to reach that peaceful atmosphere that takes you to your own paradise, your Happy Place.

By the way, the previous “listening to records with a gramophone” is actually real in FRESH shareASAKUSABASHI』. A vinyl player is free to use on the first floor, right next to bookshelves that cover the whole wall with the finest selection of Japanese comics. But it not only plays records. It also plays cd, radio, and music from your phone or USB. Isn’t it glamorous? Oh! Did I mention that this area has a soft, fluffy carpet where you can lay down and deep into your paradise? “This would be my favorite place in this share house!” Not too fast!

I have just started with the introduction of this place and it will become better.

On the second floor, while going up, a luxury chandelier will welcome you. On the right side, you will be able to see the kitchen and after a styling glass wall is the main living room. The manga paradise! I couldn’t hold my excitement when I saw this area. There was even my favorite title ” Boys over flowers” (花より団子). I’m pretty sure you will spend here most of your time sharing with your housemates about the fantastic stories that those mangas have.

Let’s move on!

As I wrote some lines before, on the second floor is also the kitchen which can be seen from the living room. Don’t get mistaken it isn’t an open concept kitchen, the big glass wall is more like a showcase that lets you take a look inside of an elegant restaurant’s kitchen. I wonder What are they cooking? Wow! that looks delicious! ~

And like people say, “to understand other cultures you have to taste it”. The kitchen will be like an international food court where you and your housemates can cook delicious food and exchange local recipes. Imagine having breakfast pancakes and bacon! Or Kareraisu (Japanese curry) for lunch or eating tacos for dinner?! The nice part of living in a share house is the variety of people who can live under the same roof. Everyone is willing to let you taste their culture. The kitchen would be like taking a fast trip to another country!

A bed, tv, desk, clothes hanger, refrigerator, storage boxes under the bed and a wide window that let the sunshine fill the room.Simple right? but What else would you need? Considering that you would spend more time in the other common areas of the house, the bedroom will give you enough facilities to feel comfortable in your own private space.

“I want to convey the warmth of a sharehouse”

“FRESH shareASAKUSABASHI” is operated by Fresh Room Co., Ltd. and they have been operating share houses for over 10 years with the corporate philosophy of “Warm Space for You”.
“What I like about living in a Sharehouse is that it isn’t a place where you are alone when you go home”, says Ms. Oda from Fresh Room Co. Even though this sharehouse has just opened its doors, it seems that there were some changes following the residents’ requests. Always taking seriously the needs of the residents shows how engaged is Fresh Room Co with offering a comfortable place where to live.

As we were talking with the staff, I could feel the proximity that they have with the residence of each sharehouse. They even organize events to make more enjoyable the lifestyle in a sharehouse.

“You can actually try a share house for a month,” says Ms.Oda.
Some of the people who are actually living in a share house have to travel often to overseas so they are constantly changing places. Isn’t it nice? you have the chance to experience the lifestyle in each sharehouse until you find the right one for you. With this kind of facility, why don’t you give it a try?

“FRESH shareASAKUSABASHI” where residents of all nationalities gather under the same roof. Why don’t you start a new life surrounded by an international share mate in Asakusabashi where the good old scenery remains.

The design of the kitchen is connected to the living room and the counter which is perfect to interact with your housemate while cooking or even to watch your favorite tv programs. The kitchen is a big area which was thought to use it freely even in the morning crowded time.

In addition to basic dishes, there are 4 rice cookers, 3 microwave ovens, and 5 sinks. The home electronics follow the luxury and sophisticated concept of the house too, all of them in black color. A big surprise for the coffee enthusiasts… There is a coffee maker! The main point of this area is the table and sink centered right in the middle. I would like to point out this as a perfect and easy chance to start a conversation with naturality.

I can imagine the nice atmosphere on holidays, where all the people of the house gather and cooking together as in a tv drama. I wonder what kind of delicious food would be created in this kitchen.

By choosing a share house as your new residence, more or less, you are expecting to meet new people. Don’t you want to spend a great time with your new friends?

“FineMaison Inadazutsumi” can also keep your private space private by it’s structure. You don’t need to go through a living room to get to your private room. In addition, most of the rooms have washing basin and restroom equipped which enables you to feel more private compared to other share houses. The share space is big enough to find your best way to spend time according to your condition or purpose.

I assume that there will be variety of residents moving in. Like that there’s no border for a fine coffee and cuisines, you sure can get along with your share mates naturally by spending time in their own ways at the sharing living room.

Fine select Inc. runs this house.

Staff working in the firm is very ernest and trustworthy was the impression I got from the conversations we had. They focus and never compromise on creating a space that residents feel safe and comfortable. It runs over 100 share houses all over Tokyo which enables you to ask for an advise when moving to other district.

I recommend for those who even a little bit thought that “I might want to be a part of share house life, living with all sorts of people with different perspectives” to come and take a look. Once you see how fulfilling the facilities are, your heart may be filled with excitement imagining the life here.

Under a red roof is a cafe with a sense of warmth brought out by woods.

“Our life is exactly like the ones you see in TV Dramas”

At first, you were just one of the residents, sitting back, observing others’ life with a cup of coffee in hand. But when you know it, you are playing the leading part of your own story created in the house.

John Lennon once said that “our life is our art”. Well, living in a share house, you sometimes get a feeling that “our life is our creation”.

Not that there are any proof, but those who chose share house as their home tends to have some creator spirit and are interested in interior and architect designs. They also find creation a important essence of their lives.

While going through the above theory in my head, I heard that Oak house Inc. opened a new share house with a theme “world of painting” called “Gran Yomiuri mae”. Today, I will introduce you all about it.

It is a share house available for both men and women, admitting up to 23 members. The house is 17 minutes walk from Yomiuri land station of Odakyu line. “Instead of not being the most convenient place for train riders, you can expect fulfilling share spaces and private rooms which are difficult to find in residences near stations” saids the owner.

If you are a creator, it is thought to be important to have your privacy ensured so that you can focus on your work. Plus, to see other art or even just knowing the existence of other creators nearby may stimulate your inspiration and imagination.

Let’s take a look if you’re attracted to the theme “the world of painting”. Doesn’t it sound fun for people with common interest living under the same roof?

As it used Van Gogh’s “the yellow house” as a motif, “Gran Yomiuri land mae” is painted in bright yellow, catching everyone’s eyes.

Not that there are ample items for creating arts, but it provides good balance between a private space for individual residences to focus on their life and communicating with share mates. Various facilities adds spice to your daily life.

Engaging with people of different minds will probably have positive effect on your inspiration.

For those interested in art or those who even believe that art is his/her life itself. If you felt that this may be the place that can add new and positive things in your life, pay a visit to the house.

Cheering for other’s important things and feeling someone is in your life may give a good effect in your life. Wasteful time can become precious with someone by your side. These experience and the change of minds can be called as an “art” in some way.

Sensing others’ feeling or needs, harmonizing with others, or purposely not. Start a new things or add something to others’ creation.

These are not easy to exercise and you may fall into a negative minds or may even encounter conflict with others. But I ensure you that all of it will become your precious memory and life experience.

With all of it combined, I came to the conclusion that “life at the share house are created by each and everyone’s participations”. Enjoy your life creation here at Gran Yomiuri land mae.

Look no further than this share house with vast spacious site. The “FineMaison Yokohama” was newly built in 2018. As you can guess from its’ name, it is located at the central part of Yokohama city. Now, the house is seeking for a first share house members to make a history with. More than 10 communal spaces are for free use, such as laundry, theater, fitness, beauty (for women only), study, and karaoke rooms. Even more, all the individual rooms have bathroom and closet each.

Not only they have women exclusive floor, but also have rooms available for couples. Within walking distance from Yamashita park and China Town, the rent falls somewhere between the range of JPY 54,000 – 65,000, which is comparably cheap around this area. You cannot expect substantial facilities and vast space with this price if it wasn’t for sharing. If you’re considering a share house style of living in Yokohama, I strongly recommend you to take this into consideration.

Amazing kitchen island and lots of electric oven you can never encounter in apartment rooms for single person. Table for 10 and bar areas are only a part of this unique house. The clock hanging on the central pole looks like the one you saw in schools’ food hall.

“How about actually living?” “What did you choose this share house with decisive factors?” There are many things to worry about, are not you? In order to solve such a question this time, I have talked to the residents! (From the left, Aya, Nick, Natsumi)

—Please tell me the best reason you decided to live in this share house.

Aya

First of all, I thought that I would enjoy studying abroad if I live here. And it seems likely that I can have various friends.

Natsumi

Nick is my boyfriend, but when thinking about him, I thought that this share house where people of various nationalities live is good.

Nick

People living in the share house are all kind and helpful. I made friends who can speak English, as well as Japanese friends who teach Japanese.

Natsumi

Nick is studying Japanese very enthusiastic.

He can not only speak now but also can write kanji!

Nick

Thanks to everyone. I am grateful.

—I think the life here is very wonderful. Is there a lot of interaction among residents?？

Aya

It is quite a lot! Every day someone is playing a game competition or a drinking party. I have not seen a time when there is no one in the living room.

Natsumi

Living is always lively.

Nick

When I think “I want to talk with someone”, I try to go to the living room. Because everyone is there, I do not miss it.。

Aya

I agree . I like the living room the most. I may not have thought that I am lonely.

—Is English used when speaking between residents?

Natsumi

I often use English. Because there are many people who can’t speak Japanese.

Aya

I also use English at least once a day. Just living, I will be happy to study English.

The best attraction of “Firsthouse Mizonokuchi 100+b” is that it is easy for new friends to make. It’s fun because not only Japanese but also friends from foreign countries can do it. I recommend it to those who think that “I want a new encounter.

Nick

Resident is kindness anyway. We will help you when you have a problem, and will tell you gently what you do not understand. People who are the first to live in a share house should surely be able to live with peace of mind.

Aya

At first I was anxious about having a living with others. But now such anxiety has gone. People who are lost in living in a shared house, how about trying it once?

I want you to experience the share house once in your life!

Next, I talked with Mr. Sugawara of Interwhao which operates ” Firsthouse Mizonokuchi 100+b”. Mr. Sugawara actually manages the property while living in this share house.

—You are actually living in this share house, isn’t you?

Mr. Sugawara

While actually living, I am doing business of share house. I am listening to the opinions of residents or responding to small problems. While doing maintenance and cleaning of the share house, I am enjoying the feeling of the captain of a long ship as long as I am.

—I heard that this house was painted exterior wall recently.

Mr. Sugawara

This building is not a new construction but a renovation. For that reason, we want to carefully use while maintaining. The property owner arranged for this exterior wall painting. Moreover, it is finished with the sense of color of citrus system and green of interwhao corporate color since our foundation 20 years ago.

—There are many residents of foreigners, but is communication difficult?

Mr. Sugawara

I can communicate with the English speaking resident without problems. Communication with residents who can not speak Japanese as well as English is a little hard, but by speaking slowly and carefully, I understand in general.

—Do you participate in events between residents?

Mr. Sugawara

Of course! I also participate in drinking party and game competitions. Also, today I hold a special exhibition of the Tama River Fireworks display on the rooftop.

—Ah, that was right!

Mr. Sugawara

I heard that the fireworks display can be seen very well from the roof of this property. I am also looking forward to it for the first time this time. Everyone is already gathering at the rooftop!
